FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S)

We’re hopeful and things are looking good. As many know, our lease at our current building went up in January and we’ve been looking for a new home. We’re currently in final negotiations with Irvine Presbyterian Church and the Los Ranchos Presbytery.
Some of the timeline is outside of our control, but we’d like to move as quick as possible. As Bobby mentioned in service on Sunday, February 4, 2018, we could move as quick as Palm Sunday or as late as July. Stay tuned on this page and our social media as dates firm up. Once we know a firm date we will make sure to get the word out as soon as possible.
Not right away. When we first move we will still be a RCA (Reformed Church in America) congregation. However, the intent has been to start the process of joining the PC(USA). Both denominations are aware of the process and have shown support.
Yes. However, the PC(USA) and the RCA are full communion partners. This means that either church can call ministers of the other to serve their congregation. Ministers between the two denominations can transfer ordinations under the formula of agreement.
Yes. However, the sanctuary seats over 600 people. We’re hopeful that this will be beneficial to our other services as people will need to spread out which service they attend. We will also have an overflow/alternative venue setup on campus to view the service live from another room.
The Irvine Presbyterian Church campus has a variety of meeting rooms and spaces, most of which are easily accessible. We are doing our best to accommodate all of our community groups that meet throughout the week and on Sundays.
We anticipate no change in service times. We will continue to have an 8:30 and 9:30 Traditional Service along with an 11:15 Modern Service.
Parking is great! In fact, there are over twice as many spaces available to us on Sundays. We will be providing maps before the move to help facilitate a smooth transition.
In our search for a new property this has been a vital concern. There will be no changes and we have a plan to implement all the elements of our service that make us Shepherd’s Grove.
No. We will remain a reformed Evangelical Bible Church.
