Daniel Rodriguez - O Holy Night - Season of RejoiceBeautiful music filled the sanctuary this past Saturday, November 21, as nearly 800 people across two performances celebrated the birth of Jesus and welcomed the Christmas season at Shepherd’s Grove during the second bi-annual “O Holy Night.” The evening featured 16 songs performed by a stunning orchestra, the angelic Hour of Power Choir and spectacular soloists Daniel Rodriguez, Marla Kavanaugh, Mandie Pinto, Dorothy Benham, Diane Freeman-Reynolds, Logan Watts, Casey Zemen, Frank Snip, Michael Skidgel and Karina Nuvo.  

The night also featured Scripture readings from the Christmas story by Pastors Bobby Schuller, Chad Blake, Russ Jacobson and Glenn DeMaster. A glorious narration of Jesus’ powerful life, followed by a choral rendition of “Joy to the World” brought the evening to a glorious conclusion.   

“O Holy Night” also served as the launch of Season of Rejoice, a six-week-long annual holiday event that features entertainment for the whole family, as well as traditional and contemporary Advent services featuring inspirational messages from Bobby Schuller.

Longing for God

Dorothy Benham is a lyric-coloratura soprano. She has appeared on Broadway and been a guest artist with Symphony Orchestras throughout the country. In 1977, Dorothy was crowned Miss America and today she continues to be a part of the Miss America organization. Today, Dorothy performs “The Holy City” (Michael Maybrick). Dorothy is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.

Hour of Power favorite Daniel Rodriguez is known as America’s tenor. Mark McVey is best known for his theater credits, which include more than 3,200 performances in the role of Jean Valjean in the musical, “Les Miserables.” J. Mark has performed in Carnegie Hall with Marvin Hamlisch, and has appeared with the Boston Pops and The National Symphony Orchestra. J. Mark earned a gold record for his participation with the Trans Siberian Orchestra. His CD and DVD “The Inspiration of Broadway” is available wherever music is sold. Today, J. Tenore is an award winning music group consisting of three tenors: Jason Catron, Mark David Williams and Gabriel Burrafato. Rabbi Jason seeks to unite both Christians and Jews by re-focusing them on their common, biblical foundations. Rabbi Jason’s first book will be published this year.

Follow the Rabbi: Becoming a Rabbi

Pastor Bobby Schuller concludes the series of messages entitled “Follow the Rabbi” with his message, “Becoming a Rabbi.”

LynnMarie Rink is a Grammy nominated artist, a storyteller and a motivational entertainer. An accomplished accordion player, LynnMarie has earned five Grammy nominations – the first female to hold that honor. She has released 13 recordings and has worked with legendary artists including Vince Gill and Willie Nelson. She has written a one woman show based on her journey with her son James, born with Down syndrome, and her memoire will be released in 2016.
